Rolex Prices in Dubai 2026: Retail vs Pre-Owned

Rolex Prices in Dubai 2026: Retail vs Pre-Owned

How much does a Rolex cost in Dubai in 2026? The honest answer: it depends on whether you buy new from an authorised dealer or pre-owned on the open market, and on the model. Here is a clear overview of retail prices in the UAE, where the pre-owned market sits today, and how to get good value.

At our showroom in the Dubai Gold District, price is the first thing most clients ask about. It is also the most confusing part of buying a Rolex: the official retail price is one number, but for many models it is not the price you can actually buy the watch for. This guide explains both.

The short answer

  • Entry level: a new Oyster Perpetual 41 retails at around AED 28,250, a Datejust 41 from around AED 35,650.
  • Sports models: a Submariner starts at around AED 40,350, a GMT-Master II “Pepsi” at AED 48,000 and a steel Daytona at AED 67,450.
  • Pre-owned: popular steel sports models often trade above retail (the steel Daytona by roughly 75% or more), while many gold dress models trade at or below retail.

Rolex Retail Prices in the UAE (2026)

Rolex raised its prices on 1 January 2026, by around 7% on average, mainly because of the high price of gold. These are the current UAE retail prices for some of the most popular references, including 5% VAT:

Datejust 41, smooth bezel, Oyster 126300 AED 35,650

Why the Retail Price Is Often Not the Real Price

For the most wanted steel models, demand is far higher than what Rolex produces. Authorised dealers keep waiting lists, and many buyers never get offered a Daytona or a GMT-Master II at retail. That is why a strong pre-owned market exists: you pay more than the list price, but you get the watch today, with no waiting list and no purchase history required.

For other models it works the other way round. Many gold and dress watches are easier to buy new, so on the pre-owned market they trade close to retail or even below it. This is where a pre-owned purchase can save you real money.

Pre-Owned Rolex Prices: Where the Market Sits in 2026

Pre-owned prices move every week and depend heavily on year, condition and whether the watch comes with its box and papers. As a guide, this is roughly how the market compares with retail in 2026:

Model Pre-owned vs retail (approx.)
Daytona, steel (126500LN) around 75–80% above retail
GMT-Master II “Pepsi” / “Batman” around 60–70% above retail
Submariner (no date, 124060) around 15% above retail
Explorer II (226570) from about retail to around 20% above
Day-Date 40, yellow gold, standard dials often slightly below retail
Day-Date 40, sought-after dials (e.g. green) around 25–40% above retail

Across all references, pre-owned Rolex values rose by around 6% on average over the past year, making Rolex the strongest of the major brands on the secondary market.

What Determines the Price of a Pre-Owned Rolex?

  • Model and reference. The same model can have several references; newer movements and current-generation cases are usually worth more.
  • Dial and bezel. A rare or popular dial (green, ice blue, meteorite) can add tens of thousands of dirhams.
  • Box and papers. A full set with the original warranty card is worth noticeably more than a watch alone.
  • Year and warranty date. A recent warranty card date means the five-year Rolex warranty may still be running.
  • Condition. Unworn watches with stickers achieve the highest prices; heavy polishing can lower the value.
  • Service history. A recent official service is a plus, especially on older references.

Is It Cheaper to Buy a Rolex in Dubai?

Often, yes. The UAE charges 5% VAT, much less than the 19–22% common in Europe. Visitors on a tourist visa can also reclaim VAT on eligible purchases from retailers registered in the UAE Tax Refunds for Tourists scheme. The refund is validated at the airport or another exit point within 90 days of purchase; a processing fee applies and cash refunds are limited to AED 35,000, while card refunds have no limit. Ask the retailer before you buy whether your purchase qualifies.

Dubai is also one of the largest pre-owned watch markets in the world, so the choice is wide and prices are competitive.

How to Buy a Rolex in Dubai Safely

  1. Buy from an established dealer with a physical showroom you can visit, not from an anonymous seller.
  2. Ask for the reference, year and scope of delivery in writing before you pay.
  3. Check the warranty card: the serial number on the card must match the watch.
  4. Get an authenticity guarantee and a warranty on the movement in writing.
  5. See the watch in person if you can, and compare two or three examples side by side.

At Ilan Watches every watch is inspected by our specialists before it is offered, comes with our authenticity guarantee and a 12-month movement warranty, and can be viewed in our showroom before you decide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest Rolex in Dubai?

The cheapest new Rolex is the Oyster Perpetual. The 41 mm version retails at around AED 28,250 in 2026; smaller sizes cost less. On the pre-owned market, older Oyster Perpetual and Datejust models can be found for less.

How much is a Rolex Submariner in Dubai?

A new Submariner without date retails at around AED 40,350 and the Submariner Date “Starbucks” at around AED 47,650. Pre-owned, the no-date Submariner trades at roughly 15% above retail, depending on year and condition.

How much is a Rolex Daytona in Dubai?

The steel Daytona 126500LN retails at around AED 67,450, but it is very hard to get at an authorised dealer. Pre-owned, it typically trades around 75–80% above retail.

Is a pre-owned Rolex a good investment?

Rolex has held its value better than most brands, with average pre-owned values up around 6% over the past year. But prices can also fall, especially for models that were very hyped. Buy a watch you want to wear; treat any increase in value as a bonus.

Can I sell or trade in my Rolex in Dubai?

Yes. We buy Rolex watches with or without papers and usually make an offer within 60 minutes. You can also trade in your watch towards another one. More about selling your Rolex.
