The Rolex Lady-Datejust: Sizes and Generations
The Lady-Datejust has been made in different sizes over the decades. Today the two most common pre-owned sizes are 26 mm and 28 mm.
- 179xxx (26 mm)
- The earlier generation, for example 179174 in Oystersteel with a white gold fluted bezel or 179173 in yellow Rolesor.
- 279xxx (28 mm)
- The current generation with a slightly larger case and a newer movement, for example 279171 in Everose Rolesor or 279174 in Oystersteel and white gold.
- Datejust 31
- A separate, larger model (278xxx) that many women also choose. You find it on our Datejust page.
What Makes One Lady-Datejust More Expensive Than Another
- Size and generation. The 28 mm 279xxx models are newer and usually priced higher than the 26 mm 179xxx models.
- Metal. Oystersteel with a white gold bezel, two-tone Rolesor (steel and yellow or Everose gold) and full gold models are at different price levels.
